The total of requests in 2019 amounts to 1,884 so far, with December figures not yet final. For the whole of 2018, 2,206 people sought asylum in Luxembourg.
In November 2019, most asylum applications were of Aghan origin. Throughout the year, the biggest demographic seeking asylum was Eritrean.
