Police on Wednesday morning announced that a fatal accident took place near Lauterborn at around 6pm on Tuesday. Two vehicles collided for reasons unknown, which led to one of them crashing into a third vehicle.
A 19-year-old man from Junglinster driving a Seat succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The second motorist was lightly injured while the third one only suffered a shock.
Emergency services from Echternach, Ettelbruck, and Consdorf were sent to the scene to provide assistance.
The route between Luxembourg City and Echternach was closed off following the accident. A forensics team was also deployed to the scene to secure evidence and reconstruct the accident.
