Emergency services11 people injured in a series of collisions since Friday night

The emergency services have reported no fewer than 11 people injured in traffic accidents in the Grand Duchy since Friday night. The adverse weather conditions presumably also played a part.

Six people were injured in an accident shortly before 5pm on Friday evening on rue de l’Arbed in Esch-sur-Alzette. According to the report, two cars had collided, and two ambulances were called to the scene.

An hour later, a car crashed into a tree between Kehlen and Olm, injuring one person.

Shortly before 9pm, a motorist encountered an animal on the A13 motorway between Markusbierg tunnel and Mondorf. The injured driver was taken under the wing of the emergency services.

At 3.40am on Saturday morning, a car crashed into a wall on Avenue de la Gare in Esch-sur-Alzette. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

At 4.20am, another car crashed into a wall between Bigonville and Bigonville-Moulin, injuring one.

In addition to these traffic accidents, emergency services also reported that the fire brigade intervened in Cité Emile Mayrisch in Schifflange on Friday evening, where a house had caught fire. One person reportedly suffered from smoke inhalation.

The fire brigade was also called to Warken, where two cars caught fire on rue de Bürken at around 7.40pm.
