HSBC’s interim general manager announced on Tuesday that the bank plans to cut 15% of its workforce worldwide as part of a drastic cost reduction plan.
Based in Luxembourg, the group currently employs around 400 people. RTL contacted a representative of the group who admitted there were no geographical details concerning the announced cuts at present.
The news follows last year’s decision to slash 32 jobs from HSBC Luxembourg, said to be a decision to redirect commercial strategy and outsource certain tasks to other entities within the group.
