In January of this year we reported that Chargy had some 277 EV charging stations in Luxembourg, with the company stating that the aim to have 800 public charging stations up and running in 2020.

Meanwhile, Luxembourg’s national petroleum association reported that there were 234 petrol stations in Luxembourg in 2017 - down from 239 in 2016, and 244 in 2010. While the number has decreased slightly, we are not exactly in lack of places to fuel up. 239 stations means that Luxembourg has 1 station per 2,542 residents; compared to 1 per 3,373 in Belgium, 5,664 in Germany, and 5,982 in France, according to the same source.

This means that Luxembourg now has more EV charging stations than petrol stations - though of course a petrol station has more than one pump, while not all EV stations may have multiple charging points.
