From the archivesBird's eye view of Luxembourg in the 1960s

RTL Today
RTL and the Centre for Audiovisual Content (CNA) have provided us with another glimpse into the past, this time focusing on the Grand Duchy as seen from above in the 1960s.
Les premières images aériennes du Luxembourg
Le Luxembourg vu du ciel dans les années 60. Ce sont les plus anciennes vues aériennes du pays retrouvées dans les archives de Télé Luxembourg.

The footage was made in a helicopter provided by the American Army. The video is the oldest bird’s eye view of the Grand Duchy that our colleagues were able to find in the archives.

One can see the capital as it extends from Limpertsberg to Kirchberg, the military cemetery in Hamm, as well as the abbey in Echternach, the castle in Vianden, and even the Upper Sûre dam.
