Towards the end of the Second World War, the Americans were still in need of volunteers to scout around the German border region. Among them is young Emil Schwirtz from Luxembourg.
In 1945, Schwirtz was awarded the War Cross with Silver Gilt Star by General Charles de Gaulle.
