Not sure which school option is best for your child? Over the coming weeks, schools will hold open days for prospective pupils and parents in Luxembourg.

Each year, schools across the Grand Duchy throw open their doors to welcome prospective students, and the English-speaking schools are no exception. Whether you're interested in primary options or secondary, read on to find out more in our handy guide!

Mondorf International School

This international school in Mondorf-les-Bains offers a slightly different approach to education for pupils in primary and secondary school.

The primary school open day will take place on 1 March, followed by the secondary school open day on 8 March.

Mersch International School Anne Beffort

This international school in Mersch offers primary and secondary education, and will be holding an open day on 8 February from 10am to 1pm. For further details, visit their website.

Ecole Internationale de Differdange & Esch-sur-Alzette

The international school will host open days for prospective pupils on 27 February in Differdange (all classes) and 25 February (only primary) in Esch-sur-Alzette.

The Differdange event will cater to all year groups, while the Esch-sur-Alzette event is focused solely on primary school education. The school offers education from pre-school through to secondary level.

Lycée Michel Lucius

The Lycée Michel Lucius in Limpertsberg is a public school which added its English international stream in 2011, alongside its Luxembourgish stream. Now, it accommodates pupils in primary and secondary, with a focus on flexible language tutelage.

The school will host an open day for both primary and secondary levels on 1 March from 9am to 1pm, preceded by a virtual information meeting on 27 February via Teams.

International School of Luxembourg

The International School of Luxembourg is a private school in Hollerich, unlike the other options listed here which form part of the public school system. The school follows the international education system and takes pupils from age 3 onwards. The ISL's open day will be on 15 March.

Lycée Edward Steichen International School

This international school in Clervaux, northern Luxembourg, accommodates pupils from kindergarten all the way through to the European baccalaureate. This year, the primary school open day will be held on 22 March, with the secondary school open day scheduled for 29 March.

Lënster Lycée

The Lënster Lycée International School in Junglinster will be holding an open day on 28 February for pupils of primary and secondary ages.

International School Gaston Thorn

The school is housed in the vibrant "Geesseknäppchen Flower" building in central Merl and invites prospective students to their open day on 1 February.

St George's International School 

Although St George's International School in Hamm did not hold open days in previous years, this year marks a change.

The open days for the secondary section will take place on 26 February and 31 March, while the primary education open day will be held on 1 April.

Open days upon request

The OTR International School in Belair do not hold open days – but instead can accommodate prospective pupils for personal tours upon request.
