1. Watch striking Olympic theatre performance

Choreographer Hofesh Shechter returns to the Grand Théâtre with a brand-new production, premiering as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games cultural programme. Known for his visually stunning choreography and pulsating soundscapes, Shechter blends dance, music, and striking lighting by Tom Visser into a dreamlike exploration of human emotions. In addition, there's a Q&A after the first two performances, as well as additional masterclasses.

2. Hear Hania Rani & Ensemble

Hear talented Hania Rani at the Philharmonie, who is much more than an instrumentalist sitting quietly on a stool: she is an impassioned performer, resting her crystalline voice on electronic layers that are alternately contemplative and rhythmic. Following in the footsteps of Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds – whom she admires – she is a new incarnation of uninhibited neo-classical music. Rani is joined by an ensemble to bring her music to new heights.

3. Sketch burlesque performers

Join the Letz Boys bar for an evening of life drawing with a burlesque twist. No matter whether you're a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, sketching is a great way to boost creativity and reduce stress. Two performers will pose for you throughout the evening. You're invited to bring your own drawing materials but paper and pencils will also be provided.

4. Don't miss out on the Pétange cavalcade

What: 68th edition

The cavalcade of Pétange is the oldest and largest carnival parade in the country, taking place for the 68th time this weekend. Vibrant, diverse, and internationally oriented, it has long since gained recognition and remains a huge public success. See all kinds of organisations, clubs, and private individuals march down the city, distributing goodies, dancing, and playing fun music in the carnival spirit. It traditionally kicks off at exactly 2.10pm.

5. Watch The Blue Star

In the early 1990s, Spanish rock and roll musician Mauricio tries to reconnect with his vocation and travels through Argentina, where he meets an elderly musician going through hard times. Learning more about folk music, the traditions of the region and its people, Mauricio finds new passion in life. With English subtitles.

6. Hear jazz-folk singer Curtis Stigers

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and saxophonist Curtis Stigers was keeping fans company online during the pandemic, playing concerts straight from his living room every week. Now he is bringing the intimate atmosphere to the club stage with his dynamic band. Expect acoustic guitars, his unmistakable voice, and some serious saxophone solos.

7. Visit the international contemporary art fair
