1. See adaptation of The Little Prince

The contemporary adaption of Saint-Exupery’s masterpiece The Little Prince will be running for one more weekend! Blending choreography, aerial acrobatics and video projections, the production is likely to captivate audiences as of 6 years old. The show is in French with German and English subtitles.

2. Feel inspired at Expo Creativ

Discover everything to do with artisan work, handcrafts and creative design at the Expo Creativ market. You’ll find materials, inspirations and lots of creative people to chat to about your next projects ideas. There are also a lot of crafting activities for children!

3. Enjoy 2-month wine and cheese festival

What: Promoting Luxembourg’s best wines
Where: Hôtel-Restaurant de l’Ecluse, 29 Waistrooss, 5450 Stadtbredimus

It’s a true feast for the senses: Winemakers and restaurateurs along the Moselle are hosting fondue, raclette and other cheese nights paired with delicious local wines. The series, called Wine Cheese Enjoy, runs for two months with various events at different locations every weekend. Reserving in advance is recommended. The first one takes place this Friday at Hôtel-Restaurant de l’Ecluse in Stadtbredimus.

4. Explore children’s reading in Differdange

What: Reading for children
Where: Aalt Stadhaus, 38 Avenue Charlotte, L-4530 Differdange

‘Bib fir Kids’ takes place every first Saturday of the month in the library’s activity room of Differdange. A storyteller will read stories to children, followed by a crafts activity. All in all the session lasts about an hour, and children receive attendance tokens with small prizes awarded for five tokens. Sessions are in Luxembourgish, registration by phone required in advance at 58 77 1-1920.

5. Watch Being John Malkovich

What: 1999 comedy
Where: Cinémathèque, Place du Théâtre L-2613 Luxembourg
When: Friday, 3 January at 8.30pm - info & tickets

A surrealist comedy in which a puppeteer takes up a job to support his family. While working late one night, he finds a portal that leads directly to the head of the Hollywood actor John Malkovich.

6. Join torchlight hike

What: Medieval, adventurous feeling
Where: 5, beim Martbusch, 6552 Berdorf
When: Saturday, 4 January at 6pm - more info here

Join a magical torchlight hike through the beautiful landscape of Berdorf during sunset. Being only 3.5km long makes it a perfect family walk. Adults will be carrying the actual torches, and children will receive safe electric lights. After the walk there’s a surprise at Bistro Martbusch! Cost is €10 for adults, €7 for children. 7. Hear concert in candlelight setting

What: Timeless classics
Where: 1-3, Driicht, 9764 Marnach, Luxembourg
When: Saturday, 4 January at 8pm - info & tickets

Immerse yourself in timeless melodies of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and more, all whilst surrounded by beautiful candlelight. Icon Strings is made up of award-winning musicians from London, who have played venues like Royal Albert Hall, the Wigmore Hall and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Now in Marnach!
