1. Celebrate 10 years of De Gudde Wëllen

Nestled in the narrow Rue du Saint Esprit, De Gudde Wëllen is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend. Festivities kick off with an electronic club night spread across three floors on Friday, followed by a mini-festival featuring artists dear to the club’s programmers on Saturday. The line-up includes performances and DJ sets by Napoleon Gold, Ice In My Eyes, Baby Berserk, MIKI and Das Radial, amongst others. Check out our interview with Nicole from TGW here.

2. Watch classics before Christmas

Cinematheque are showing all your favourite Christmas classics from ‘The Holiday’, ‘Bad Santa’, ‘Love Actually’ to ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ up to and including the 19 December. Back on 27 December for more Christmassy fare, from ‘The Holdovers’ to the award winning animation “Kensuke’s Kingdom”. Check the website for screening times and get in the festive mood!

3. Buy vintage clothing by the kilo

4. Catch Sofi Tukker at Den Atelier

What: Electronic house meets bossa nova

The American duo Sofi Tukker will light up Den Atelier this Sunday with their blend of house, Brazilian funk, drum and bass, bossa nova, pop, Portuguese poetry and fun. One of the most exciting and daring acts on tour right now. Catch them in Luxembourg this weekend.

5. Book tickets to the circus

Luxembourg’s magical Christmas Show is back on the Glacis. Prepare for a fun-filled event featuring acclaimed artists, including performers from Cirque de Soleil and the world-famous Monte-Carlo Circus Festival. With breathtaking performances, thrilling acts and a family friendly-atmosphere, Cirque de Lux is an animal-free show, which promises to be a magical experience for the entire family. Runs for over a month until 5 January.

6. Hear Beethoven’s 9th Symphony

What: Unifying music

Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony celebrates its 200th anniversary this year. It’s more than just an ode to joy, it is an ode to peace that Philippe Herreweghe will be performing at the helm of his Orchestre des Champs-Élysées and the Collegium Vocale Gent.

7. See model train exhibition

What: Every man’s secret hobby
Where: 11 Avenue de la Libération, 3850 Schifflange

See trains chuffing, chooing and chugging along at the 6th model toy train exhibition in Schifflange. Unlike the Deutsche Bahn these may actually arrive on time...all aboard!
