Luxembourg City’s much-loved Winterlights Festival begins on Friday, 22 November, transforming the capital into a festive wonderland. Expect the usual Christmas market stalls at Place d’Armes and Gëlle Fra, the ice skating rink on Kinnekswiss and a revamped Winterkids area on Knuedler. Laurent Schwaller, Chef de Service at Ville de Luxembourg, spoke to Melissa Dalton ahead of the opening.

Explore the Philharmonie’s rainy days festival this year (and its theme of “extremes”) with modern compositions by John Cage, Morton Feldman or Erik Satie, as well as eclectic performances written for 17 electric guitars, or composition workshops for children. Four days of music for all the senses.

Luxembourg’s contemporary art scene and the international sector come together at Luxembourg Art Week (LAW), showcasing art pieces from The Grand Duchy and the world. Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL) is launching ‘Super Saturday’ at Stade Josy Barthel. The day will feature four matches, starting with the U14 and U16 teams taking on RC Soignies. Following that, the U18s will play a local derby against CSCE in front of what is expected to be a large crowd. The main event will see RCL’s senior team face off against the current German champions SC Frankfurt 1880. Come and support!
