The hair freezing contest at the Takhini hot pools has been running since 2011, and is held “any day that it is cold enough” throughout the winter. All you have to do to enter is get yourself to the hot pools (of course), dunk your hair, let it freeze in the -20 (or colder) temperatures above water, and snap a photo.
And the prize? A cool photo for your instagram followers to admire, but also $750 CAD for one of a number of winners. Should just about cover the prize of your flight, if you time it right.. Who’s in?
