Java junkiesLuxembourg's import of coffee more than doubles in just ten years

RTL Today
The love of a good latte appears to have surged over the last decade, if Luxembourg's import of coffee is anything to go by.

According to Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, Luxembourg imported some 387,000 kilos of coffee (or, as they put it, “Coffee, whether or not roasted or decaffeinated; coffee husks and skins; coffee substitutes containing coffee in any promotion” - sounds delicious) in 2009.

By 2019, the figure stood at a whopping 963,000 kilos - an increase of 148%. Luxembourg’s population also increased in this time span, by over 100,000 people. Even taking that into account, our import of coffee has doubled on a per-capita basis.
