Representing this organisation, Meron Rapoport made it to Luxembourg from Israel to pick up the Outstanding Peace Support award, poignantly following a recent period of unrest between Israel and Palestine.
I interviewed Meron Rapoport and Dr Thabet Abu Ras as COVID first hit us, exactly one year ago. Little did we know then that these wonderful people, and their whole team of supporters would be picking up the award for Outstanding Peace Support at the Luxembourg Peace Prize.
As ever, Meron's quiet grace and humble presence shone through as he spoke on behalf of the work of the organisation and everyone who wants to see peace in the heart of the Middle East.
The Laureates of the Luxembourg Peace Prize were celebrated at the University of Luxembourg on 28th May. Given the challenges of an increasingly global lock-down last year, the recipients of prizes for both 2020 and 2021 were honoured collectively.
The Luxembourg Peace Prize is one of the pillars of the Schengen Peace Foundation.
