A rather peculiar plane landed at Luxembourg airport on Tuesday: the one used by Sylvester Stallone in the film "The Expendables 3".

While Stallone himself has not come to the Grand Duchy to carry out some over the top, adrenaline fuelled mission with his gang of elderly action heroes, "his" plane has in fact landed at Luxembourg Airport on Tuesday.

The plane is a Soviet model intended for military transport. It is more than 23 metres long and has a wingspan of almost 30 metres. It was produced between the 60s and 80s (the Antonov An-26). The first model of this type made its maiden flight in 1969.

According to the manufacturer's website, it can fly at 440 km/h over 1,100 km and up to 9,000 m above sea level.
