How to make sure you're washing your hands for 20 seconds.

How much time should you spend washing your hands? The CDC recommends scrubbing with soap and water for a full 20 seconds. Most of us don't spend nearly this long.

To make sure you're taking enough time at the sink, you could try singing the Happy Birthday song twice. You know the words:

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear (name)
Happy Birthday to you

But why sing Happy Birthday when there are so many better, more thematically appropriate songs out there? We've taken the liberty of compiling a few alternative tunes you can hum to pass the 20 seconds:

I Don't Need No Doctor
by Ray Charles (0:11)

I don't need no doctor
'Cause I know what's ailing me
I don't need no doctor
'Cause I know what's ailing me

I Will Survive
by Gloria Gaynor (0:50)

Did you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?

Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive
I will survive

Stayin' Alive
by The Bee Gees (0:33)

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive
