Explore the Domaine Irrésixtible at night, 2 August

Spend an evening at Domaine Irrésixtible, the family activity park set within the grounds of Château Saint-Sixte near Freistroff. Enter between 6pm and 8pm and enjoy a summer night of outdoor fun until midnight.

Activities include mini golf, a barefoot trail, a scavenger hunt, and a moonlit adventure through the corn maze.

Please note: the pedal boats are not available during evening sessions for safety reasons.

Night hike in the beaver wetlands, Hermeskeil, Germany, 6 August

Families and children are invited to a special night-time hike through a beavers' wetland habitat in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, organised in partnership with the Hermeskeil Municipal Association.

From 9pm to 11.30pm, certified guide Nadine Mißner will lead an exploration of the wetlands near Hermeskeil, home to Germany's largest rodent – once extinct in the region but now slowly returning.

Participants will learn how beavers live, build their lodges, and shape the environment around them – all while searching for signs of activity under cover of darkness. The walk combines hands-on nature education with playful discovery, making it ideal for families.

Lantern hike at the Ellergronn nature reserve: Explore the forest after dark

Embark on a guided lantern or flashlight hike through the Ellergronn nature reserve – a magical evening experience designed for children, families and groups. As dusk falls and the forest comes alive, your guide will lead you along quiet trails, sharing stories and insights into the nocturnal world around you.

Located just south of Esch-sur-Alzette, the Ellergronn is a former iron-ore mining site that has been transformed into a thriving nature reserve. Now part of Luxembourg's Natura 2000 network, the area features ponds, grasslands and restored forests teeming with biodiversity.

The walk begins at the Centre nature et forêt Ellergronn, housed in the site's historic mining buildings, and offers a unique blend of natural discovery and local heritage.

Perfect for nature lovers and adventurous young explorers, the hike offers a memorable way to experience Luxembourg's southern wilderness after dark.

Legendary Saarland: Full moon guided tour at the Saar Loop, 9 August

Under the light of the full moon, families are invited to discover the mystical beauty of the Saar Loop on a guided evening walk filled with legends, fairy tales and folklore.

Taking place along the Baumwipfelpfad Saarschleife treetop path, the tour offers a magical atmosphere and storytelling experience against the backdrop of one of Saarland's most iconic landscapes.

The night of the stars at Eurospace Center, Libin, 14 August

Held during the peak of the Perseids meteor shower, this flagship event at Belgium's Eurospace Center offers a night of wonder, learning and celestial discovery.

From 4.30pm until the early hours, visitors can take part in workshops, live demonstrations, face painting, music, and a magic show – all leading up to the real spectacle: the night sky itself. Highlights include:

The Perseids: One of the most active meteor showers of the year, with particles from comet Swift-Tuttle producing luminous trails and occasional fireballs.

Saturn: The star of the 2025 edition. From midnight, observe its rings and its largest moon, Titan, through telescopes.The Milky Way: A broad band stretching across the sky, ideal for spotting nebulae and star clusters before midnight.

The Summer Triangle: This asterism – formed by Vega, Deneb and Altair 
– dominates the sky from nightfall and serves as an orientation point.

A celebration of nature, astronomy and imagination, perfect for families and stargazers alike.

Summer stargazing in the Ardennes, 30 July and 6 August

At the Observatory Centre Ardenne in Grapfontaine, visitors are invited to explore the night sky and gain a better understanding of the Earth-Moon-Sun system, the solar system, and the myths behind the constellations.

Weather permitting, telescopic observation will take place under the clear skies of the Ardennes.

The evening also includes an introduction to the impact of light pollution – a major obstacle for astronomers and a growing concern more broadly. Suitable for children aged 8 and up, as well as curious older visitors.

Night climbing at Kletterhafen Merzig - zip lines, treetops, and music after dark, 16 August

If you and the children enjoy climbing, treetop courses and zip lines, Kletterhafen Merzig in Germany is hosting three night-time events this season – each offering a unique experience with lights, music and outdoor adventure.

Pairi Daiza by night, 11 July-16 August

A favourite family destination for visitors from Luxembourg, Pairi Daiza is a renowned zoo and botanical garden located in Brugelette, Belgium. Set in the grounds of a former abbey, it is home to more than 7,000 animals, including giant pandas, elephants and white tigers.

Throughout the summer, the park stays open late for Les Estivales – a seasonal evening festival held on weekends from 11 July to 16 August. During these nights, the park is transformed into a festive setting with more than 200 performers across multiple stages.

Musicians, dancers, magicians and acrobats fill the gardens with colour and sound, while the illuminated park pathways offer a rare opportunity to experience Pairi Daiza under the stars.

Schueberfouer in Luxembourg City, 22 August-10 September

Last but not least, take the children later in the evening to the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg City – they will be mesmerized with all the lights.

The Schueberfouer will be open between 22 August 2025–10 September 2025.
