As the holiday season approaches, there are plenty of enchanting Christmas shows and parades that will delight the whole family in Luxembourg and beyond.

From dazzling circus performances to ballet classics and festive parades, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Cirque du Lux in Luxembourg

From 30 November 2024 to 5 January 2025, Cirque du Lux will present its biggest spectacle in 20 years. The show, suitable for all ages, will feature a star-studded lineup from international events like Cirque du Soleil, America’s Got Talent, and the Monte Carlo Circus Festival. The International Circus Festival will be held on 30 November and 1 December, where top artists will compete for prestigious awards, judged by an international jury. This animal-free circus relies solely on human talent and takes place at Glacis.

Ballets in Luxembourg

  • The Snow Queen goes on between 30 November and 1 December. Experience the classic Hans Christian Andersen story in the magical setting of Vianden's historic castle. This performance is suitable for families. For more details, visit Luxembourg Ballet.

  • Casse Noisette (The Nutcracker) happens at the Rockhal on 9 February 2025. The timeless ballet by Tchaikovsky, presented by Franceconcert, promises a magical experience. Tickets (which are going fast) and more info are available here.

Family-Friendly Shows at Opéra de Liège, Belgium

Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège offers a fantastic range of shows for children and families, including:

  • Le Château enchanté (20 and 24 November) and Journée famille autour du Château enchanté (24 November 2024).

Christmas events in Belgium

  • Parade de Noël in Malmedy, Belgium: On 22 December at 7pm, this luminous parade will light up the streets of Malmedy with 12 lit up chariots and over 300 participants. For more info, visit the event’s Facebook page.

  • Illuminated Tractors in Schockville (Attert), Belgium: On 14 December, watch as tractors decked out in festive lights parade through the streets, accompanied by music and festive cheer. More info here.

Christmas at Amnéville Zoo, France

Experience a Christmas fairy-tale at Amnéville Zoo with a parade of artists and dancers on 24 and 30 November, and 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15 December. The zoo will also host other Christmas-themed shows and a festival. For details, visit Amnéville Zoo.
