Do you remember the very first time you rode a roller coaster? Or the first time you visited a theme park?
Theme and amusement parks have huge fans worldwide. We are fortunate to have some of the best parks in Europe, many of which are not far from Luxembourg. Exciting developments are on the horizon, so let’s explore them together!
New Peppa Pig theme park Near Legoland Deutschland in Günzburg
Opened in May 2024, this is the first Peppa Pig theme park in Germany, featuring many novelties such as Daddy Pig’s roller coaster—an ideal first roller coaster experience for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
The park offers various colourful rides and experiences for the whole family, including Peppa Pig’s Balloon ride, bikes, a cinema, sand play, and a treehouse. There is also a splash area for children to enjoy water play, reflecting Peppa Pig’s love for water and puddles.
Located next to Legoland, you can book tickets to visit both parks.

New theme area and roller-coaster at Europa-Park
Europa-Park is one of the best theme parks globally and remains family-owned, ensuring meticulous attention to detail. This summer, Europa-Park introduces its 17th themed area: Croatia, featuring a new roller coaster dedicated to Nikola Tesla called VOLTRON, which promises thrilling sensations.
Additionally, new shows and attractions, especially in the Austrian area, are being added.

New Exciting Climbing Adventure at Phantasialand
Phantasialand introduces an interactive family climbing activity suitable for various age groups, with a range of options and difficulty levels including slides, paths, and climbing trails. This new attraction has won the award for Best Fun Factor for Families.

New shows at Walygator Grand Est
The closest theme park to Luxembourg, Walygator, is launching the show Pirate Bay: Le Duel this summer, a thrilling pirate-themed spectacle running daily from 3rd July to 1st September.
From 6th to 14th July, Western Days will feature country dancing, a mechanical rodeo, a selfie box, and an exhibition of American cars on 7th July.

Disneyland Paris' 'Frozen'
"A Musical Invitation" returns on 1st July 2024, offering a 30-minute show for all ages featuring Anna, Sven, Kristoff, Elsa, and Olaf. Other new shows include "Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland" and the "Disney Electrical Sky Parade."
In 2025, Disneyland Paris will rename its second park to Disney Adventure World, introducing a new immersive area dedicated to the world of Frozen.

EifelPark Gondorf's 60th Anniversary
EifelPark, a favourite for Luxembourg families, celebrates its 60th anniversary with a full programme of events on 6th and 7th July, including face painting, magic and acrobatic shows, balloon artistry, street musicians, and fireworks.

Universal Studios in the UK
While it’s not confirmed, Universal Studios has acquired a 476-acre parcel of land south of Bedford in the UK, exploring the potential for a new theme park and resort.

New water park: Plopsaqua in Mechelen, Belgium
Set to open either at the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025, the Plopsaqua water park aims to enhance the quality of life for Mechelen residents and visitors, especially families visiting the Technopolis science museum. The park will feature swimming pools, slides, and green spaces.

Holiday Park Germany
Less than three hours' drive from Luxembourg, Holiday Park is planning exciting developments, including a new water park with indoor and outdoor areas, a Smurfs-themed area coming in 2025, and another new thematic area to be revealed soon.

Amazonia at Bellewaerde Park, Belgium
Opened in 2024, Amazonia is a new part of Bellewaerde Park featuring four sensational attractions hidden in tropical forests, including the world’s biggest half-pipe.

Opening on 15th July, this new water park offers an immersive experience with innovative slides, outdoor swimming pools, and more. Though not close to Luxembourg, it promises a unique water attraction experience.
