History comes vividly to life during this large-scale re-enactment weekend at the Waterloo Battlefield.
On 27 and 28 June 2026, re-enactors will recreate the attack on Hougoumont Farm.
Organised by the Waterloo Battlefield Estate in partnership with Napoleon's Last Headquarters, visitors can explore military camps and civilian villages, meet traditional craftspeople and watch demonstrations showing how soldiers and civilians lived during the Napoleonic era.

Known as Belgium's Village of Books, Redu is filled with independent bookshops, cafés, restaurants, and literary curiosities. For me, it was one of the most amazing unexpected discoveries in our region, after visiting with my family after a day at the Euro Space Center.
Its annual Night of the Books will take place on 1 August 2026, with this year's edition devoted to the imaginative world of steampunk. The village will come alive with performances, street entertainment, illuminated displays, and bookshops remaining open into the evening.
Redu also makes an excellent addition to a family visit to the nearby Euro Space Center.

Charleville-Mézières, widely regarded as the world capital of puppetry, will welcome performers and visitors for Temps d’M from 16 to 20 September 2026.
Over five days, theatres, streets, squares, and even local bars will become stages for puppet shows, artistic performances, workshops, and encounters. A total of 23 productions and around 65 performances are planned.
This festival is truly unique in our region: it offers the possibility to see the endless creativity of the artist but also to understand better what puppeters do.
There is a special kind of magic in seeing the puppeteers performing. Walk around the main square and the narrow streets with the children and let your senses be captivated by this unique form of art.
Some performances and activities require separate bookings.
