Chloe Malle, a Vogue veteran credited with doubling web traffic, has been promoted to Head of Editorial Content, succeeding Anna Wintour in the magazine's most significant leadership shift in decades.

A significant leadership change is underway at Vogue, as Anna Wintour, the magazine's iconic long-time editor-in-chief, has announced her successor.

The move follows Wintour's announcement in June of her intention to step down from the day-to-day leadership of the publication. She will maintain a senior advisory role, focusing on the "multifaceted growth" of the US magazine and "expanding global audiences."

As confirmed by Vogue on Tuesday, Chloe Malle, the former head of Vogue.com, has been appointed to the new role of Head of Editorial Content. The 39-year-old has been with the publication since 2011.

Malle joined as a co-host of the popular Vogue podcast The Run-Through before serving as a social editor and gaining experience across numerous departments. After she took over leadership of Vogue.com in autumn 2023, traffic to the website doubled. Anna Wintour praised her successor, calling Malle "a secret weapon when it comes to fashion trends" who, "like the best designers, understands both fashion and its overall concept."

In a statement, Malle expressed gratitude for the appointment and acknowledged the privilege of having Wintour remain as a mentor.
