Around 30 reports of disturbances

Between 10pm on 26 December and 6am on 27 December, the Grand Ducal police received around 30 reports relating to conflicts and noise disturbances. In most cases, however, the situations had already calmed down by the time officers arrived, or the issues were resolved on the spot.

Licence revoked for drink-driving

During the night of 27 December, police were alerted to a breakdown on the A13 motorway. Upon checking the vehicle, officers found that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyser test confirmed this, and it also emerged that the driver did not have a licence. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the vehicle was impounded and a formal report was drawn up.

Separately, emergency services also reported a traffic accident early on Saturday morning between Oberfeulen and Mertzig. At around 5am a car was involved in an accident and one person was injured.
