Today Radio has undergone some big changes, with new faces being added to the roster as well as the usuals still in place, with everything set to launch on 30 September.
Steps is back
Kicking off the changes is a welcome return to Today Radio's one and only Stephen 'Steps' Lowe, who will now be hosting a one-hour show from 10–11am, Monday through to Friday, entitled New Noise and, as the name suggests, Steps will be highlighting the best in new and upcoming tunes and sharing the latest music news.
But it doesn't stop there for Steps, as he will also be embarking on a new entertainment journey with a cool new show called Screentime. It will be an hour-long segment on Fridays at 4pm (with a repeat on Sunday at 3pm), which will cover all things cinema, TV, and video games, providing reviews, recommendations, chart info, news, as well as featuring choice cuts from fresh and classic soundtracks.
Steps expressed his delight on his return: "After recharging my batteries following six months on Sunny Side Up, I'm very excited to get back on the mic again. These fresh formats offer the station additional reach to our growing audience. New Noise is really going to firm up our reputation as taste-makers and being ahead of the curve and with Screentime, we've a chance to embrace cinema, streaming, and gaming in a one-hour dedicated slot. Our expanded line-up looks pretty formidable to be honest."
As well as these new shows, Steps will be continuing his usual duties through Louder, which will still be on Mondays at 7pm, and his podcast Song 2 will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms, as well as RTL Play. He will also be overseeing the expansion of Today Radio's increase in written content, so keep an eye out for that!
Afternoon Session with Ben and Lucy
Due to Steps's increased workload, Ben and Lucy will be continuing to bring you the best tunes with the Afternoon Session from 12–2pm. Lucy will be bringing her unique energy and taste to the Monday and Friday shows, with the legend that is Ben Andrews filling the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday spots.
Weekend Warmup with Alice Monnat
Our resident dance and electro connoisseur, Alice Monnat, will now be presenting a new show entitled the Weekend Warmup from 5–7pm on Fridays as she shares her considerable knowledge of the best in club music to bring you into the weekend.
Each week from 7–9pm, she’ll also be serving up a curated house mix of the best in upbeat dance music to get you ready to go out and party. But, because the weekend is more than just a Friday night, Alice will also deliver a fresh mix every Saturday evening from 7–9pm to ensure all you house mavericks and dance aficionados don’t miss a beat.
New host Ethan Carey on the Drive Time
As for the Monday to Thursday late afternoon slots, we are very excited to announce the Drive Time show with new host Ethan Carey. Ethan, who is well-known in the local music scene as the frontman of Scian and the guitarist in Leen, will curate a mix of the latest hits and classic favourites while also putting the local Luxembourgish music scene in the spotlight through a multitude of live performances, interviews, and special segments.
The show returns to its original time slot of 4–7pm, ensuring that your journey home is fully stacked with top music. Ethan can't wait to get involved, stating: "I am so excited to begin my show on Today Radio and cannot wait to bring bags of energy and a great mix of music to the listeners!"

And there's still more!
These new shows mean that there are a few other moving parts on the schedule. With Ben permanently moving to the Afternoon Session, it means an end to the Ben Andrews Show on Sunday afternoons, so be sure to tune in this Sunday for his last show in that slot. Taking its place will be a repeat of Screentime along with our curated Hour of Power.
And Saturday’s UK Chart Show will now go out an hour earlier to ensure you get the freshest hits even earlier than before. There will also be an additional Artist Hour on Sunday nights after the brilliant banter of Letz Talk Sport.
In addition, for the past year, In-Tune has been exploring the world of classical, jazz, and international music by interviewing performers and music makers. Now it will be available live, with Eva of course, on Tuesdays evenings from 7–8pm.
The future of Today Radio
After curating the whole schedule, Head of Programming Sam Steen is over the moon about the future of Today Radio: "I'm really excited about the new additions to the Today Radio roster. I've been hoping to get Ethan Carey involved for quite some time and now things just lined up! Ethan's well-known in the music scene in Luxembourg, he's a big personality that knows how put together a playlist that should bring real energy to the last few hours in the office or the ride home.
"Having Steps back on air in the daytime is also a big plus. His passion for new music is infectious and New Noise will be a 'must-listen' for any music fan and we know that Luxembourg is a city full of film buffs, so Screentime is going to find an audience."
There are more exciting projects brewing, so stay tuned and listen in to some of the best content Luxembourgish radio has on the airwaves!
