The Dutch cyclist Pieter Weening came out on top after the second stage of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg.

The second stage began at Steinfort at 4pm, concluding in Rosport later on on Friday.

The Dutch cyclist managed to get ahead of the peloton around 13 kilometres before the end of the race, accompanied by Joaquim Silva and Rémy Rochas. Weening finally managed to leave Silva and Rochas behind by not much distance as he crossed the finish line.

Frenchman Christophe Laporte remains in first position for the general leaderboard. On Saturday, the race will continue in its third stage with a 178.7 kilometre route between Mondorf-les-Bains and Diekirch.
