The Skoda Tour de Luxembourg kicks off on Wednesday evening and will affect different roads and public transport routes throughout the country.

The Tour begins Wednesday evening in Luxembourg City with a prologue run of 2.1 kilometres, which will go through parts of the capital.

Traffic, parking, and the route

The cyclists will start in the forecourt underneath the Adolphe bridge and go via Rue de la Semois, the Pétrusse valley, Rue St. Quirin, Rue St. Ulric, the Montée du Grund, Rue Large, Rue Sigefroi, Rue du Rost, Rue de l'Eau, and Rue du Fossé before finishing the circuit on Place Guillaume II.

The above named roads will all be closed to traffic as of 6pm, with the exception of Rue du Fossé, which will be closed from 4pm onwards in order to prepare the end of the route.

Parking will be banned along the route from 2pm onwards, with parking bans starting at midday on Rue Notre-Dame and Rue du Fossé.

Public transport

The bus lines 19 and 32 will be subject to bus stop cancellations starting at 6pm. The bus stops Cathédrale, Gruef, Kasinosgaass and Badanstalt quai 2 will be replaced by the Hamilius bus stops (quai 1 and 2).

The line 23 will not stop at Stadtgrund as of 6pm. Those hoping to get to the Grund will have to use the lift by the courts or take buses 9, 14, or 20 from the Rumm bus stop on Rue de Trèves. The line 23 will also go to quai 2 instead of quai 3 when stopping at the Clausener Bréck bus stop.

The tour will return to the capital

Throughout the rest of the Tour de Luxembourg, cyclists will return to the capital on 6 June (at 1pm) and on 9 June to arrive at the fourth stage. We'll keep our readers updated on road closures, detours, and parking and public transport restrictions on each day.
