The Artist HourTonight's featured artist: Sprints

RTL Today
Tonight's Artist Hour is all about Sprints, the uncompromising post-punk force from Dublin who have become one of the most vital live bands on the circuit today and a regular on the Today Radio playlist.

Led by the fearless and fiercely articulate Karla Chubb, Sprints channel frustration, identity, and vulnerability into songs that hit with the urgency of a gut punch. Their music is loud, sharp, and direct yet laced with smart lyrical turns and a strong sense of self-awareness. With roots in Ireland’s underground scene and the sonic spirit of bands like Savages, IDLES, and Fontaines D.C., they’ve found a sound that feels both cathartic and confrontational.

At Today Radio, we’ve been proud supporters of Sprints from the start. They’ve joined us in conversation on multiple occasions, including interviews with Sam Steen and Sarah Tapp, where they spoke candidly about everything from mental health to navigating the music industry.

Six months after ruining us on other bands, Dublin’s hottest up-and-comers have unleashed their debut album, “Letter to Self”

Sprints have already left a mark on Luxembourg audiences with explosive shows over the past few years, and they’re set to return once again on 15 August as part of Congés Annulés at Rotondes. With a new album on the way this autumn and a fresh single already making waves, this next gig promises to be something special.

Whether you’ve seen them live or you’re hearing them for the first time, this Artist Hour is a chance to connect with a band that never phones it in. Expect ferocity, feeling, and fearless songwriting.

Tune in at 8pm on Today Radio.

Sprints drummer chats new music, how they got started, first gigs, the Irish music scene and that TD Twitterstorm.
