Melissa Dalton host of ‘The Home Stretch’ recently sat down for a chat with Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer, ahead of the group’s Saturday 7 October gig at Rockhal (presented by den Atelier). They chat about the band’s fifth studio album, 5SOS5 , a project that brought the pop-rockers more heavily into the production studio than ever before. They discuss the evolution of their live performances and the insights and changes that arise when a band transitions from playing small crowds to huge venues all over the world.
Listen-in as Melissa asks the band about hearsay (did they really write the album entirely in studio, something almost unheard of these days?), the challenges and experiences that go into creating a more personal record, and what it feels like to play live onstage at Royal Albert Hall.
