Rocklab, Rockhal‘s incubator, has been organising Screaming Fields since 2010. They are dedicated to scouting, accompanying and promoting young artists from Luxembourg. Moreover they don’t discriminate genre-wise from pop and to rock over hip-hop and electronic music to metal and even jazz, everybody has their shot.

Screaming Fields has two components, a music festival, where young bands and artists can take their first steps into performing live music, but also a song contest, the perfect launch hub for talented songwriters, beat-makers and bedroom producers.

The package for the winner of the song competition includes a professional studio recording with the help of a music producer, a music video shoot with the help of a professional filmmaker, various coaching sessions to improve songwriting, vocal and musical skills, and a promotional campaign for the single you’re producing.

All you need to do participate is compose an original song on the theme of “Tomorrow Starts Today” and sent it in before 17 June. You need to be between 12 and 25 years old and be based in Luxembourg. Additionally, the song you submit must be unreleased.

A selection committee composed of the Song Contest partners (Ministère de la Culture, Film Fund Luxembourg, Sacem Luxembourg, Eldoradio), music experts and artists will select the final winner.

To play live at the festival you must be in that same age group and sent your application before 12 May. The conditions to apply are to have a set of 4-5 original songs that are ready to perform and send in a video of a rehearsal or live performance.

Former Screaming Fields talent includes Trouble In Paradize, Francis of Delirium, Maz, CHAiLD, Chasey Negro, Tuys or C’est Karma.

You can get more information on the song contest and the festival on the Screaming Field website.
