The Ministry for Culture launches a new financial aid to support artists who want to record music.

Officials from the Ministry for Culture announced on Monday that a new aid for music recordings is being launched with the help of a subsidy reform. Artists of any genre are eligible to apply for the programme, the statement further underlines, while official requests for applications are to be issued twice a year.

Artists can apply for the first edition of the programme until 15 March. The application is open to Luxembourgish solo artists and bands, foreign residents with music based in the Grand Duchy, as well as Luxembourgish labels.

The initiative seeks to promote new talents and support their careers in long-term manner. A jury, made up of one government official and four professionals from the music industry, will revise applications and determine how much money is allocated in each case.

The statement from the Ministry of Culture further highlights that the decision-making process will not be made public and that the decision itself cannot be contested.
