While it is not yet known which act will be representing Luxembourg at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest - that will be decided in the LSC final at the Rockhal on 24 January - we now know which semi-final the Grand Duchy will appear at in May.
The semi-final draw took place at 7pm on Monday 12 January, with the competing countries divided into carefully curated pots to ensure neighbouring countries don’t clash.
The draw was presented by Alexandra Maritza Wachter and Cesár Sampson. Not only did they select the days for each country, but also the order sequence for each performance.
35 countries will perform on 12 and 14 May. Although the Big Five - Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom - as well as last year’s winner Austria are exempt from the semi-finals, they were included in choosing the order sequence.
The Big Five: Germany and Italy will perform in the first round on 12 May, while France, the UK and Austria will perform in the second semi-final on 14 May.
