From energetic rock performances to intimate jazz arrangements, Gouveia reflected on his evolution as an artist, promising a rare glimpse into his work on Luxembourg stages the past three decades.
A highlight of the interview was the unveiling of Gouveia’s song ‘River Roll By,’ a poignant exploration of mental health. Released in collaboration with a Luxembourg-based mental health foundation, the song tackles the challenging theme of depression and emphasizes the importance of seeking professional support.
The song was written from an observational perspective, with a friend of Lata’s struggling with mental health. The song is about doing the impossible and trying to shake someone out of depression, something that unfortunately is not possible. Even though you may have good intentions, only professional support and help can get a person out of it.
As part of the celebration of his 30-year anniversary in music, Gouveia is set to deliver a special show in Dudelange.
Despite his history of playing energetic rock shows and summer festivals, Gouveia recognized the unique ambiance of Opderschmelz—a venue best suited for jazz and intimate performances. Therefore, he curated a special band and designed the show to be a departure from his usual style.
This anniversary performance, to be recorded and released on March 27, presents a rare opportunity for Gouveia to showcase a different facet of his musical prowess.
