Here’s a preview of who will be performing:
August 19 feature multiple Luxembourg based artists. The evening is programmed by the DJs at 100.7 as part of an air break. The first artist, EDSUN, takes inspiration from musicians like SZA and Beyoncé to create bold and dance-able music pop R&B.
SKIBI, another musician performing on August 19, raps in Luxembourgish over very low key and chill hip hop beats.
Claire Parsons Duo performs mostly jazz and her own theatrical music.
TUYS, while founded in Luxembourg, are now based in Berlin. The pop psychedlic group will perform on August 21 starting at 8:30. They will be joined by Reveal Party, a trans woman who often sings about her experiences coming out and living life as a trans woman.
On August 22, Les Savy Fav are performing at 8:30. Les Savy Fav are a New York City based indie rock group with a storied history of almost 30 years starting in 1995. The band takes most of their inspiration from post punk and post hardcore music.
The final night of performances takes place August 23 starting at 6:00. The last show features First Mote, Dirk Kesseler, and Sensu. Sensu, a DJ, will open the night and perform his singular music that combines club and experimental elements. Then, at 9:00, First Mote will take the stage joined by Dirk Kesseler. First Mote creates loud, in your face, and youthful instrumental garage rock. Dirk, a Berlin-based illustrator, will join First Mote on stage and live interpret and illustrate the music. The illustrations will be projected onto the platform.
Besides concerts, Congés Annulés also includes many other events all month long including DJ sets, a drawing work shop, and a record fair in which you can purchase physical music and other merch from participating bands. To sell your own bands merch, email nicolas.przeor@rotondes.lu.
