The boys are back in townEditors return to Luxembourg for a sold out show in March 2024

Editors, with their brooding yet anthemic sound, are making a much-anticipated return to den Atelier.

Renowned for blending post-punk influences with atmospheric rock, Editors have captivated audiences worldwide for over two decades. Tom Smith’s emotive vocals and intricate instrumentation define their albums like “The Back Room”, “An End Has A Start” and “In Dream,” showcasing a compelling mix of dark melodies and introspective lyrics.

Since their 2005 debut “The Back Room”, Editors have evolved their sound, incorporating synth-pop elements in hits like “In This Light and on This Evening.” Their musical journey continued with further experimentation in “In Dream” (2015) and a fusion of rock and electronic vibes on “Violence” (2018). In 2022, Editors released ‘Heart Attack,’ their first new music since 2019, and welcomed Blanck Mass (Benjamin John Power) as a full-time band member, adding new dimensions to their music, releasing seventh album EBM in September last year.

Editors live shows are tight, taut affairs and a full of atmosphere. This new tour looks to close the promotional cycle for EBM and treat audiences to some of those well-worn classics.

Talking to WhyNowUk earlier this year, keyboard player Elliot Williams said, “The band has been around for so many years that we feel like we’re out on our own in some respects, we no longer get the mainstream radio that we used to get, and we’re not expecting it now we’ve got singles that are seven minutes long with thunderstorms at the end of them.”

“I just hope that, when someone does talk about us, they’ll go: ‘That fucking band does exactly what they want to do; they’ve always stayed true to themselves and their creative ambition.’

Today Radio’s Breakfast Show Host, Sam Steen, caught up with Editors drummer Ed Lay, the previous time Editors took to a Grand Ducal stage, check that interview out here. And if that isn’t enough Editors’ material for you, check out Stephen Steps Lowe’s Song 2 podcast, where the band’s seminal cut Munich is under the spotlight, and Ed himself gets in on the Song 2 action.

Don’t miss the chance to experience Editors’ captivating performance on 9 March, where their evocative melodies promise an unforgettable night.

And, although this event is now SOLD OUT, our friends at Today Radio will have a competition closer to the show date, along with an interview with the band - and perhaps even something with a little more sauce - so watch this space.
