Jason Derulo wows The RockhalDerulicious dance and pyrotechnic extravaganza by iconic singer

Meredith Moss
We were not ridin’ solo with this ripped Floridian taking us on journey through all of his greatest hits.

Jason Derulo took to the stage - albeit fashionably 20 minutes late...perhaps push ups and the baby oil application are part of his pregame? No one seemed to mind as he put on an iconic choreographed performance which meant Luxembourg couldn’t help but DANCE.

Opening with ‘Whatcha Say,’ Derulo reminded us of our love/ hate relationship with autotuned vocals but as avid Imogen Heap fans, we can’t help but get excited about how well he can craft a song. Of course, the moment this particular Today Radio team member started to go down the rabbit hole questioning the future of ballads in terms of AI , those python arms brought us right back onto the stage.

Everything about the show was flawlessly executed and the two hour plus show full of explosive pyrotechnics, high notes and confetti was delightful

With a sound that is undeniably his own, Jason Derulo’s rich, soulful voice runs to the gambit from the highest of falsettos mixed with a baritone and the result is captivating but while I could blather on about vocal range, perhaps it is time to discuss that he took us dancing. The choreography could fully stand alone.

It was as if the show took us on a dramatic physical journey and featured pirouettes, gyrations and lots of people on their toes.

Hear Jason Derulo in conversation with Today Radio:

American singer Jason Derulo is set to play in Luxembourg on Feb 29th and caught up with Sam to discuss family, new music, touring and Sesame Street...

Along with a plethora of incredibly talented dancers, two in particular stood out: Les Twins. Their footwork means at times they looked as though they were floating across the stage. Les Twins, aka Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, are known internationally for their talents in a new style of hip hop dancing which combines various dance styles and it’s all the more fantastic as they are, in fact, identical twins. These brothers have danced with Beyonce, Meghan Trainor and Missy Elliot and it is not hard to figure out why. They have an insane amount of energy that had us questioning not only their workout regime, but also what vitamin supplements make their riders.

The Nu King star has a sizeable back catalogue that he is touring through 14 European countries with little rest in between and while Luxembourg was lucky to be the 6th stop out of a gruelling 24, no hiccups were revealed.

Everything about the show was flawlessly executed and the two hour plus show full of explosive pyrotechnics, high notes and confetti was delightful.

The singing, the epic choreography, and the huge arms created the perfect storm for a Thursday night and judging by the crowd’s jubilation, no one was disappointed each time he sang his own name.
