Tonight on The Artist Hour we turn up the volume with one of the most enduring rock bands of the past three decades, Foo Fighters.
Formed in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters began as a one-man project in the aftermath of Kurt Cobain’s death. What started with Grohl recording a batch of songs on his own quickly evolved into a full band and a career that has helped define modern rock.
Over the years the Foo Fighters have released a string of hugely successful albums, from their self-titled debut through to The Colour and the Shape, Wasting Light, and their most recent release But Here We Are (2023). Known for stadium-filling anthems like Everlong, Learn to Fly, Best of You, and The Pretender, they have built a catalogue that balances raw energy with emotional depth.
The band’s reputation has been forged on their powerful live shows. Few acts can match their mix of passion, humour, and sheer stamina on stage, whether in packed clubs, headlining festivals, or selling out arenas worldwide.
Through tragedy and triumph, including the passing of beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022, Foo Fighters have remained a band defined by resilience, community, and the healing power of music.
Join us tonight for The Artist Hour as we celebrate the career of Foo Fighters with an hour of their biggest tracks, hidden gems, and songs that showcase why they remain one of rock’s most important bands.
