Luxembourg singer-songwriter Hugo One recently joined The Sam Steen Show to celebrate the release of his new single Aimer Encore and to preview his debut performance at Luxembourg Pride this Saturday, 12 July.

A rising local talent, Hugo One has released five singles to date, but Aimer Encore marks a new step, his first track written and performed entirely in French. “I wanted to write a love song from the bottom of my heart”, he told Sam. “And that meant writing in my mother tongue”.

Though Saturday will mark his first official professional performance, Hugo One’s musical journey has already included some surprising milestones. He once found himself on stage at Den Atelier with pop icon Anastacia after a spontaneous crowd interaction, and made his singing debut at Luxembourg’s Philharmonie during a school event. “Most people start in pubs or busking,” Sam joked, “but your first two performances in Luxembourg were at the Philharmonie and Atelier!”

His Pride debut promises to be equally memorable. “I’m on the City Hall Stage at 3.45pm”, Hugo said. “It’s going to be all live, all singing, all dancing, with four amazing dancers. We’ve been working on the show for two months.”

Luxembourg Pride held in Esch-sur-Alzette, culminates this weekend with the much-loved Street Fest and the Equality March on Saturday. Known for blending political messaging with vibrant queer culture, the Street Fest features a diverse lineup of local and international talent across two stages.

Alongside Hugo One, Saturday’s City Hall Stage performers include C’est Karma, Adriano Selva (formerly CHAILD), and a showcase of drag artists including the FADA’s Family and Delux Showgirls. Meanwhile, the Village Stage will pulse with electronic music sets from Crystal O., DJ Miss Sappho, DJ Pippa, Dance Divine, and more.

Luxembourg Pride 2025 officially began earlier in the week, but the main festivities start Friday evening with performances from drag stars Madame Yoko and DJ Bambi Mercury, as well as returning act Rules of This Game and headliner Alle Farben. The celebrations continue into the night with afterparties across the city, including the official WR Pride Closing Party at Lenox.
