Lightning and thunderstorms over Luxembourg led to a number of last-minute changes to the ever-popular Siren's Call festival on Saturday night.
Selected shows were cut short due to fears of safety risks in light of the storms which battered Luxembourg and surrounding regions on Saturday night.
Organisers announced last-minute changes to the line-up, with Bombay Bicycle Club and Alvvays' performances cut short to 30 minutes, while British indie act Bat for Lashes' show was cancelled entirely. The main stage was closed early as a result of the thunderstorms, while other indoor shows were permitted to continue, although Kim Gordon's slot was also cancelled.
Nevertheless, the festival proceeded despite the difficult weather conditions, as music-lovers were still able to party the night away.
Michel Welter, Managing Partner at A-Promotions/den Atelier, said of the decision:
“It was very difficult, the most difficult we ever had. Lots of bands were rescheduled or changed from the main stage. But ending it was the right decision. The storm came later than expected around 9:30 or 10pm. But lightning struck the main stage and buildings nearby, and that would have been during Bombay Bicycle Club. It was not a good edition but it was a very good job from our team."
