Lata is a singer-songwriter in the Americana tradition, whose career started in London in the mid-90s but it was in “Oklahoma and Texas that I became a professional artist (2006-2010)”.
Moving to Luxembourg in 2010 and starting a band (The Lata Gouveia Band) and then being at the helm of The Grund Club ASBL in 2014, Gouveia brings together an eclectic collective of musicians in a non-profit association of singer-songwriters.
In October 2020 Lata is set to release his 4th LP of original songs, the 3rd of which to be produced in Luxembourg.
Lata says the LP release will “coincide with the 10-year anniversary of my Band. This will take place at the Rockhal and I will have the internationally renowned Blues singer Layla Zoe with her band as Opening Act”.
Gouveia is a well known figure on Luxembourg’s music scene and his show on RTL Today’s Facebook Live really is not one to be missed.
And, as Lata puts it; “apart from my own career, my mission is to strive to bring the Luxembourgish audience closer to the singer-songwriters living in Luxembourg.”
