After years of building up a reputation as a songwriter, producer and drummer, Joël Heyard is releasing his debut album on 15 November 2018 on G-Minor Records.

Having explored numerous genres throughout his whole career, Heyard settles down in a Soul influenced modern Electro/Pop sound.

Introspection is Heyard’s most personal work to date: “After years of playing, writing and producing music for other artists, I felt it was time to step out of my comfort zone and to finally share my own music, thoughts and inspiration. If not now, then never.”

For Introspection, Heyard put together an international line-up consisting of Matt Bednarky (US), Jeannette Dalia Curta (DE), Vinylic (FR) and Ben Nilles (LU) on vocals as well as Emmanuel Teschke (DE) on the bass and Remo Cavallini (LU) on the guitar.

Heyard's new album will be available on all major download and streaming platforms.

Our favorite

Having had the privilege to preview or rather to pre-listen Introspection, the favorite from your editor on duty is "Turn it Off feat. Ben Nilles".

Definitely worth discovering, alongside the other tracks, at what promises to be an awesome concert with an equally awesome line-up:
Jeannette Dalia Curta – vocals
Vinylic – vocals
Ben Nilles – vocals
Rom Christnach – bass
Claude Schaus – keys
Remo Cavallini – guitar
Joël Heyard – drums
Support: Go By Brooks

Where and when?

Introspection will be presented to the public on 15 November 2018, at 8pm at the regional cultural center opderschmelz in Dudelange. Tickets: 15€/20€

About the artist

Joël Heyard started playing the drums at the age of 14. He studied classical percussion and drums in Luxembourg before graduating from the Maastricht Conservatory with a bachelor degree in jazz drums. In 2003 he completed the New York City Drummers Collective’s Summer Program.

In 2004, Heyard started venturing into music production. Since then, he produced numerous top ten hits such as for The Gentles and Marilù. Collaborations with big names such as Rick Pope (“Jamiroquai”) or Jamal Thomas (“Maceo Parker”) allowed his production company to become firmly established.

Playing in various bands since a young age enabled him not only to support big names such as Bon Jovi, Toto or Sting, but also to gain touring experience abroad. Heyard has worked and played with artists such as Lance Lopez (Lucky Peterson), Patti Austin, Barbara Dennerlein, Rolf Stahlhofen, Dave Weckl, or Phil Maturano and in various national and international bands. His current projects include the pop/soul/funk project The Gazmen (with Jeff Herr and Aaron Baustert) and the drums duo JH Groove Factory with Jeff Herr.
