April 2 marks International Children's Book Day, so we decided to run a writing contest with sweet swag up for grabs!

We know that a lot of our readers love to write, so we thought we'd offer the opportunity to show off your skills! In celebration of International Children's Book Day, we've decided to run a writing contest.

The rules are simple:

  • The story has to be between 200 and 300 words in total;
  • It has to be written by you;
  • And (of course) it should aimed at a younger audience (some call them children).

Submissions will close on March 22, so make sure you get your story in before then. At that point we'll go through the stories, and a few of our editors and radio hosts will pick out their own personal favourite and record an audio version, which will be available on the site and played on RTL Today Radio.

All of our favourites will receive some RTL Today Radio swag (what that is, exactly, will be a surprise).. and we'll ask our audience to vote for their favourite, and that story will win a bigger prize... but again, we're keeping the prize secret for now!

Submit your story

You can submit your story through the fancy widget below (if you can't see it, it's because you've not allowed cookies. You can temporarily allow them by clicking 'cookie settings' at the bottom of this page, or...) submit my e-mail via contest@rtl.lu. If you opt for the latter, make sure to title your e-mail 'writing contest'!
