The Luxembourg Centre for Architecture (LUCA) is currently displaying more than 60 black-and-white and coulour photographs taken between 2015 and 2016.
The Luxembourg photographer Yvon Lambert made a name for himself with his breathtaking pictures of Cuba, Japan and Naples. For his latest project, he turned his lens to a more familiar place: Kirchberg.
The project was commissioned by the public sector utility "Fonds du Kirchberg".
The exhibition at LUCA was opened under the header "Yvon Lambert Kirchberg" and displays the artist's very personal view of Luxembourg City's bustling business centre. Lambert said that the goal of the project was not to offer a purely architectural depiction of Kirchberg's buildings, but rather a study of people in urban spaces.
In order to captivate the interaction between architecture and people, the photographer visited Kirchberg's busiest spaces. However, he was also drawn to its hidden gems and lesser-known spots.
Whether in colour or in black-and-white, Yvon Lambert's analogue photography plays with light, and places a special emphasis on the moment and the structure of the image.
The exhibition in the Luxembourg Centre for Architecture is open until 2 June.
