As the Osaka Expo 2025 draws to a close this week, Luxembourg was awarded a prize for having the most sustainable pavilion under 1,500 square metres.
On Sunday evening, the Grand Duchy received first prize for having the most sustainable self-built pavilion under 1,500 square metres at the Osaka Expo. The prize was awarded by the Bureau International des Expositions, an organisation which has been in charge of overseeing and regulating World Expos since 1931.
As well as sustainability, pavilions were awarded prizes for architecture, external design, exhibition design and the development of a topic. The pavilions were divided by size per category, separating those over and under 1,500 square metres.
Last week, the Luxembourg pavilion won third place for visitor satisfaction and media coverage, awarded by the Nikkei Marketing Journal.
