With the latest installments of 'Le MUR' highlighting innovative urban graffiti, Parisian artist PRO176 brings his talent to Luxembourg.

Since its inception in March 2022, "LE MUR Luxembourg" has become a pivotal initiative by the City of Luxembourg to celebrate urban arts and graffiti. Inspired by the renowned "MUR Oberkampf" in Paris and the success of previous graffiti projects in public spaces like the Place Guillaume II ventilation tower, "LE MUR Luxembourg" promises a vibrant tapestry of graffiti and street art styles. While it was inaugurated on rue du Fort Neipperg, the exhibition has since moved to right outside of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum at 14, rue du St-Esprit.

LE MUR stands for "Modulable – Urbain – Réactif" or "Modifiable – Urban – Reactive" in English. It's named after its constantly changing artwork. The first artwork, brilliantly crafted by Luxembourg-born Sumo, set the stage for future artistic displays. Now, and for the next several weeks, "LE MUR" will host the visionary work of PRO176, a distinguished figure in the international graffiti scene. Pro176 will be the 15th artist to grace the city with their magic.

Born in Paris on 29 July, 1976, PRO176 began his artistic journey at a young age, drawing inspiration from American comic-book artist Jack Kirby. His style evolved through collaborations with influential graffiti artists like SEEN and membership in groups such as Grim-Team and UltraBoys International. Known for blending Marvel aesthetics with abstract mathematics and cubist influences, PRO176's work embodies avant-garde graffiti at its finest. He sees the hidden meaning behind his artworks as a matter of interpretation, stating that “the eye sees… everything, but can also deceive us”.

"LE MUR Luxembourg" continues to be a platform for creativity, curated by the non-profit organisation I Love Graffiti and supported by the City of Luxembourg. This collaboration underscores their commitment to enriching the city's cultural landscape through urban art.

The vernissage bearing PRO176's latest masterpiece will be held 12 July 2024 at 5.30pm. Art enthusiasts and the public are invited to experience the dynamic evolution of urban art firsthand. This temporary installation not only showcases PRO176's artistic prowess but also reflects the ever-changing nature of urban art in Luxembourg City.
