For some, the New Year has not yet dawned. This weekend will see festivities in Luxembourg city to celebrate Chinese New Year where everyone is welcome. RTL Reports will be there from 2pm.
For the first time ever, the Confucius Institute, based at the University of Luxembourg, and partnering with the China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, have organised a series of festivities for Chinese New Year.
On Saturday, 26 January, you can explore Chinese culture and traditions with a variety of events and workshops, taking place on the Place d’Armes from 1 to 4pm.
The Chinese New Year parade – a Chinese dragon and lions - will make their way through the streets of the city centre from 2.30pm.
Following this, on Sunday 27 January, the Confucius Institute will be welcoming around 20 musicians from Fudan University, Shanghai (partner university of the Confucius Institute) for a concert of traditional Chinese music from 4.30pm at the Tramsschapp Cultural Centre, Limpertsberg.
These events were conceived and developed by the Confucius Institute, the China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Union Commerciale de la Ville de Luxembourg.
