Suzanne Cotter was appointed to the role of director of the MUDAM in late 2017. Now, she has published her first programme for the 2019/2020 season in her capacity as general director.
The programme is divided into three seasons and will highlight the museum's permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions.
The three seasons are winter/spring, spring/summer, and summer/autumn. Some of the names that will feature in MUDAM's exhibitions in 2019 and 2020 include Jutta Koether, Adam Linder, Bert Theis, Etel Adnan, Anri Sala, and David Wojnarowicz.
As her inaugural programme, Cotter hopes to show MUDAM's ambition to become one of Europe's most dynamic museums. The main emphasis will of course be the museum's permanent collection, which currently consists of 700 separate works.
The programme also includes the first retrospective of Luxembourger Bert Theis' work, with more than 100 pieces to be exhibited.
The work continues for the museum's 2020 and 2021 programme: the museum already revealed that part of the programme will include an exhibition on the theme of family, using Edward Steichen's "Family of man" as a starting point.
