The goal of the project "Guide for one day" is to offer original and authentic guided tours through Luxembourg. Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and spouse of Grand Duke Henri, supported the project by showing a group of people around the palace.
There is probably no better way to discover a place than to listen to a person who actually works and lives there. This was certainly the case on Wednesday, when a group of around 30 people was guided through the Grand Ducal palace by the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg herself.
What does everyday life and "working from home" look like for the head of state? Which protocols are in place at the palace? What is the Grand Duchess' role as "Maîtresse de Maison" (lady of the house). All these questions and many more were answered by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. And as a "Guide for one day", she told visitors various fascinating anecdotes of life at court.
Visitors will also got to peek into state rooms that are usually closed to the public: Private apartments habitually occupied by high-class guests and heads of state invited by the Grand Duke.
For many tour guests, being guided through the palace by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa herself is a memory they will not forget in a hurry.
