Would you like to have the possibility to visit Vianden castle without actually physically going? This is now possible with the virtual Vianden Box, also called the "Vivibox".

The installation has been set up by the national sites and monuments service in collaboration with Digital Luxembourg, the science centre and the ministry of culture.

Two sets of virtual reality glasses allow for both guided and non-guided tours through the famous castle and its different construction stages over the centuries. Starting its long history as a Roman fort in the 4th century, a large extension was added 700 years later. All of this, as well as the current version of the tower, is included in the detailed virtual tour.

The model and illustration of the exhibition can be viewed with a free app that shows the different stages of the castle, as well as places one cannot normally visit, such as the attic.

The "Vivibox" will stay in the science centre in Differdange until end of August before moving to Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg City.
