The national history and art museum's exhibition will showcase furniture, clothing, jewellery and sculptures from one of the most glamorous periods in design history and will be open until 4 November in Luxembourg City.

The Art Deco period embodies the spirit of luxury and elegance, of vibrancy and budding modernity. However, it emerged during a time ravaged by political and economic upheaval in Europe.

For the past years, the MNHA's Art Deco collection has been growing constantly and the new exhibition will showcase some of the museum's most prized possessions.

Graphic arts, fashion and furniture—the new exhibition will focus on pieces created or located in and around Luxembourg during the Art Deco period.

Period photographs will act as visual aids to guide and inform visitors. While the photographs are in black and white, drawings will show just how colourful interior design could be at that time.
