The organisation team for Esch-sur-Alzette 2022 seems to be in constant flux, with administrative board member Michel Clees handing in his resignation on Sunday.

Shortly after it was emerged on Thursday that the current project coordinators Andreas Wagner and Janina Strötgen's contracts would not be renewed after 30 June, it was announced that Clees will also be leaving the project.

While Wagner and Strötgen have announced that they plan to take legal action against the decision not to extend their contract, Clees cites personal reasons for his decision to throw in the towel after two years on the administrative board. He confirmed this to the Tageblatt newspaper.

After this recent resignation, the administrative board for Esch 2022 will only include two members from the general public: Raymond Schadeck and Danièle Fonck. The other 15 of the 17 board members are either politically active or employed in the public sector. The director of the University of Luxembourg, as well as a representative of ArcelorMittal, are members of the committee.
